beating the banana skin
I was wondering if you experts know if eating the skin of bananas can be harmful? I've heard it can help depression but heard somewhere it might effect chromosomes. Does anybody here eat the skins or know information about it and where to find about the possible health benifits/disadvantages?

Re: beating the banana skin
Hello and welcome!
If you grow them yourself, you can eat the skins, I've never seen or heard of any kind of adverse effect, but I've never heard of any special benefits either. However, I would advise you do not eat store bought banana skin, simply because they are exposed to all kinds of different chemicals and I'm pretty sure they don't take any special measures to ensure the skins stay safe to eat, because they are not eaten.
