Pinwheel Baby bananas for chiquita brand!

Hi,

I’m wondering if the baby bananas from Chiquita are dominico, ladyfinger, apple banana, Orito. I’m really confused I like one of the types of baby bananas and want to grow them but I don’t know. I like the one that is the most sweet from here.

Thanks!

Default Re: Baby bananas for chiquita brand!

Found an old forum post that addressed this:
Dominico Bananas

Ladyfinger is a catch-all name for several smallish but unrelated bananas, not any specific variety. The baby bananas sold by Chiquita and Dole are an AA genome Sucrier type. Sucrier types have several regional names like Dominico, Orito, Honey, Niño, and others.

As for apple bananas, there's several types that are called that. Usually it's an AAB genome Pome Subgroup variety.
