![]() Just ordered a Patupi from Sow Exotic to add to my small collection and hoping to get a Red Dwarf this weekend as well. Very excited about both of them as I'm planning to grow both in pots. The pot for the red dwarf will obviously be a lot bigger as I expect it to grow 7-8 feet.
These 2 plants will complement my Blue Java, Brazilian and Dwarf Marcos. If you wonder what a Dwarf Marcos is... it's my neighbor's name who gave me a dwarf banana plant recently but as of now we don't know the variety, so I named it after him. lol. Hopefully when it give me bananas I can figure it out. It may just be a dwarf cavendish, but oh well. Anyway.. just wanted to share this with you guys since none of my friends are into bananas like I am. Greetings from Miami everyone! |

![]() I think that you will be very happy with your new Patupi. I purchased a Patupi from Sow Exotic last year. It was a typical tissue culture plant. I planted it straight into the ground under shade cloth and closely monitored the soil moisture. It did absolutely nothing for about a month then it took off like a rocket. It flowered about six months after I planted it and the fruit ripened about two months after it flowered. (super short cycle) The picture below compares one of my Patupis to a grocery store Cavandish. As you can see the color is orange vs. the Cavandish, so it looks like it is a genuine Patupi. Good luck with yours and keep us posted on it's progress.
