Default 2024 ingens update

Was cleaning up my bananas this morning and got a surprise while working on the Ingens. A flower! hoping that as the plant matures that they'll get a lot more height in the future.

Are the pics not showing up? i can see them.

They only made it to about 4'ish tall. The next round of pups I'm going to try in the shade. This one gets some late afternoon shade. I have one on the south side that gets full sun and its looking a little more stunted than these that get afternoon shade.

Is super dwarf Ingens even a thing? I just thought they were way stunted due to this not being remotely close to their original habitat.

Not sure, but PR Giants is a banana expert so probably lol.

Pictures are loading fine now btw, awesome looking thick boys you got.

Hoping it reaches around 40 feet? Haha

Do you know how big the rack is gonna get since they're ingens? Might get some beefy naners my man.

Your plant is clearly a dwarf. A plants environment can be modified to make a dwarf appear to be a non dwarf but it can't be made to make a non dwarf appear to be a dwarf. In other words there's nothing you could have done to make it a dwarf.

You're probably growing a dwarf cavendish variety.

If you want to see some ingens bunches check out the MGIS site

Great pics

It might be a little disappointing but at least now you know what you've been growing.
