![]() I've noticed that all the 'Daj Giant' pics look like different plants . It would be great if we could share our experiences with them .
. Unfortunately my camera cord is shorting so I'll give a description for the time being. Source : seed from banana-tree Leaves : Dark ,olive-drab , with bronze/red undersides matching the midrib round bases...attached Midrib : bronze ,no wax (or very little/barely noticable) Psudostem : extremely waxy with some black and pink underneath giving it an almost purple appearance Hardiness : unprotected in zone 8 original p-stems rotted but pups emerged earlier in the than my other bananas I'll get some pics loaded as soon as my cord gets here . |

![]() Yeah I noticed that someone had splotches like red tiger on their Daj Giant. Must be quite a few different ones with those hybrid genes.

![]() Pete, yours sounds very much like mine. Mine has no splotches on the leaves either. I haven't gotten around to planting mine yet...and I need to! I just have such crappy soil here that I have to make a big ordeal out of creating a bed with organic matter, etc. Maybe I'll just donate all of my bananas to the UT Gardens with the stipulation that I get a pup when I am ready for them lol. Hey, that's actually not a bad idea!
