My grow in the north is different than your grow.

In zone 5-6 maybe 3-5 years but growing conditions can affect the outcome.
I have seen in zone 9 similar times with the same outcome.
Coastal Florida Zone 10 similar predictable grow pattern and height.
Same in zone 11.

Inexperienced growers have a hard time growing this COOL sensitive plant once it becomes chest high and underestimate the resources to grow the plant season to season. Folks have a difficult time with the large footprint.

My plant look just like the ones in coastal Florida.:)
Pstem 7-10 feet with 12 ft leaves.....or larger.

There is no end....there is just not enough time to share the bounty.

Bump....

My plants are restless needing to go outdoors.........
I had an uprising of spider mites which required some spray time in the shower.:)

Outdoor temps are just shy of my comfort level for tropical plants.
The indoor grow lighting has been adjusted for the longer days.

These plants do not require special attention backyard growers are giving them.

A repot and reposition of a corm is needed yearly...for great pup removal and insane spring growth...:)

This plant was repositioned to a 18 gal black landscape container....A perfect container to stress your plant to pup..
Before...
.
Repot and maintenence
..
.AFTER.

Lowered 3+inches and repositioned.

Repot and maintenence
