Mulching close to stem?
Hi everybody
I am mulching my Musa Basjoo prior to fiddling about with chicken wire/ straw etc to form a defence against the winter cold. Question: I have mulched over with well rotted manure and wood chip. Is it okay that the mulch makes contact with the stems, or could this cause problems ie rotting. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. |

Some good information is had watching YouTube videos on overwintering basjoos. Pick and choose what can work for you and what you can afford........in zone 9 you will have no issues. Last edited by cincinnana : 10-23-2018 at 08:09 PM. |

Re: Mulching close to stem?
I do absolutely nothing for my Basjoos and have plants coming back every year.
