Default Basjoo in warmer climates

I bought a basjoo last year and I was wondering if it could tolerate summers here in Texas? The temperatures can be in the 100s sometimes. I have it planted in an area that gets partial sun. Thanks

Thanks so much Tony. I was a little worried about how it would do in the summer heat here.

Thanks so much Greg. I'm so glad to here other people in hot climates can grow it. When I transplanted it to its new location I saw a small pup trying to develop. Its not in full sun but it gets at least 5 hours of sunlight, maybe a little more

It grows in my area with many high 90's BUT with humidities approaching 100%. I would think that you would have to pour the water to it to keep it happy. Here many people grow bananas (probably Orinoco) in semi to mostly shade. They are growing for ornamental values though.

Life - Some assembly required, As is no warranty, Batteries not included, Instructions shipped separately and are frequently wrong!

Kentucky Bourbon - It may not solve the problem but it helps to make it tolerable!

Statistics - Data that analyst twist to support the insane opinions of those that pay them.

Thanks Darkman. It can get into the 100s here sometimes but I dont have it in full sun. I have my Orinoco on the west side of my house so it gets mostly sun. Summers here can be very humid too. Do the Orinocos grow big in a mostly shade location?

I've seen 12 - 15 foot growing in a Live Oak shade with only the northern side open to light.

When I bought my basjoos, then had them at a nursery in small pots on a shelf and that was during the hottest week of the summer I EVER remember experiencing (low temperatures did not get out of the 80s and high temperatures were near or greater than 100!). They were wilted a bit, but once I repotted them and watered them, they did pretty well!
