You know, WV Girl, the problem really is, that once you start growing bananas, you can't actually stop. It's pretty difficult and those who managed it at some point, are dead by now. So I wish you good luck growing your nanas and I hope you will have lots of wonderful times with your naners.
Bye...

Hello WVGirl,

I live near you in the E. Panhandle and started my basjoo plants at about the same time in 2009. I'd like to ask you some questions but your profile doesn't have contact info.

I recently subscribed to ask a overwintering question. Since you've had success in our region, maybe you can advise me.

Many Thanks!

Thanks, Stumpy. Tried that but, WV Girl has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. I respect that.

I wonder if she's still here? A mod could see if she still logs in at all. It's been 6 months since we heard from her.

WV Girl, have you uncovered them yet? How did yours fare?

I uncovered mine a few days ago but the jury is still out. These warm temps should help them sprout, if there's life in them at all.

Also my basjoo from Baldur Garten in Germany in my old garden is still alive and resprouting now and its pup in Brazil in my new garden never needs any winterprotection, completely hardy in the tropical climate in Brazil in Lucianópolis!

I also want to hear from you whether your basjoo did survive.
