Default basjoo breaking ground.... little behind this year

the first sprout is pushing through the chips in the front yard
usually its the one in the backyard that sprouts first as it has been established longer
i was a bit worried i did not put enough chips on top of the one in the backyard this year... i am sure it will survive but might be a little slower to push through the chips this year

photo hosting site is not cooperating at the moment so i will try to post some pics on here later but it is just a little pencil looking sprout about 4 inches tall so far... behind by a couple weeks compared to some other years

edit:here is the pic

How long has the basjoo been there?
Great time of year, lost a few over the winter but we have had a nice bit of warmth the last few days and all my musa are loving it.
