Hi everybody!
I bought these two pups recently and was told they were Filipino Sabas (which apparently are also sometimes known as Cardabas?), hoping you experts could confirm for me. Here’s a picture: https://imgur.com/a/tgRXK Cheers, mygc |

Really? That’s a bit disappointing. I got this brought from interstate (AUS) so it wasn’t cheap... I can get cavendishes at my local nursery for a quarter of the price I paid. Plus I would never grow a cavendish because of its ubiquitousness and the lacklustre taste.
![]() The guy who sold it to me it said it was given to him by a Filipino, so maybe there’s a chance it could be another variety popular with Filipinos? Lacatan or Latundan banana? Does the patchy trunk mean anything? Last edited by mygc : 03-30-2018 at 06:29 PM. |

How tall is this plant? ... At the base is a bulged which make me think of 'Little Prince". But Little Prince is not a very tall plant.

It's very small at the moment cause it was a pup that was recently divided from the mother plant. I will post again with pictures (maybe next year, as we're getting colder here) when the plant has reached maturity (and hopefully flowering and fruiting).

Now that a couple of years have passed....did it flower and bear fruit. If so, did you get closer to identifying it?
