Default great mystery - FHIA?

Ive grow this particular banana for about 10-12 years. It been cold hardy and precocious and disease resistant.

its semi dwarf 7-8 ft at growth point when flowering. makes 35-40lb bunches or so. The bananas when peeled and exposed to air do not brown, nice trait.

its been a winner in my collection and I need to put a name on it.

Looks fine for 'FHIA-01'/'Goldfinger'. Have any photos of the male bud?

It does look like a Goldfinger .But the fruit looks small is it ,a fhia 01 is about 10" or so long.

"cold hardy" To me cold hardy means something only if you add a temperature.

I need Cold hardy to 0 degrees F.

Luke,

I also with Gabe, looks like FHIA-1 Goldfinger!.....Please if you can post pictures of the flower bud opening a couple of male flower rows.....If not, then, next time don't cut the flower bud until harvest time to make easier to ID it!....

When you say fhia 1 ‘goldfinger’ you mean the true fhia grom honduras or some of the mutants found in florida from poor tissue culture clones? Its flowering now once this new rack form a ill get picks of males bud and flowers.

I have another banana similar to this one, but different.

Luke,

Either FHIA-1 Goldfinger Variety!....Please just post pictures (Updates) as develops, until harvest time!....Don't cut or take out anything, including the flower bud!.....It will make easier to positively ID it!....

It looks a lot like my TC off type goldfinger. It’s hard to tell without good pictures of the male bud. So take lots of pics of the male bud this time around.
