Re: Could this be Dwarf Brazilian ?

From a distant it looks like it but can not be sure without a flower. I've grown DB and fruited and harvested before but I am not an expert.

I am still not 100% sure if it is a Dwarf Brazilian. I think by tomorrow there will be flowers showing.

Tony that is one cool plant. Dwarf Brazilian do they make a good greenhouse banana plant.

sunfish 08-21-2009 08:39 PM

Re: Could this be Dwarf Brazilian ?

Well I guess it depends on how big your greenhouse is. It's about 10 or 11ft. to the top of the leaves. Maybe a dwarf ladyfinger or Super Dwarf would be a better choice.

So you confirm it as a Dwarf Brasilian? I don't know spit about the flower difference.

sunfish 08-23-2009 05:01 PM

Re: Could this be Dwarf Brazilian ?

I know less than spit. I got these pups last year ,twenty , and I know some were D.Brazilian so I beleive that is what it is. I am going by the size of the plant right now.

My Talls dont seem to have as much pink color. Just a little striping on the top of the flowers. It does darken a bit after a day or so though.

Tony the best thing you can do to help ID the plant is to share some fruit with Jon. Also does it have male flowers yet? That's how Jon likes to compare them for ID'ing. Get some good clear pics of them to share here or compare them with the ones on his site.
