Can anyone identify this banana plant? (Pics)
I purchased and planted this in April, and it grew slowly until just recently (the fertilizer last month may have helped). Today I was shocked to find that, as small as it is (4 ft), it's putting on a bloom! And my Namwahs and Cavendish, which are much larger, have nothing. It was on sale with no label and I just took a chance, so I have NO idea what it might be. Ideas?

It is one of the many hybrid ornamental varieties out there, can't say exactly until gets a little further along, but probably either 'African Red' or 'Royal Purple', could be another too, keep posting photos.

Keep watering and BABY-ing it; post pics. That's a nice looking little plant for patio landscaping.
