Thanks for the welcome
Hello to all. I'm quite new at this forum stuff and also to growing bananas. I live on the Island of Malta and seem to be the only member so far.
Presently have 3 plants with 3 pups growing quite well, 2 varieties but don't know the names of them yet. Will be uploading some pictures soon and hopefully some will give me some help as to which variety they are. Malta seems to be an ideal location for growing bananas as we don't as yet get frost. Importing seems to be quite difficult but would like some exotic varieties in the future |

Re: Thanks for the welcome
Earlier this year I read a few articles from an international conference on fruits was held in Malta about a year or two ago. This was part of the UN research and development project to promote lesser-known fruits of the world. I recall reading that that there is a group of "rare" fruit growing enthusiasts in Malta, with over 50 varieties of edible bananas (Musa hybrids). I don't believe they were directly associated with the CRFG (California Rare Fruit Growers).
