Default New here ! hello friends ( .. and need to start seeking advice)

Hi,

I am new to this group - joined today. Hellow friends !!

I have planted banana in Lucknow in India. I am new to banana. I realize that on some plants it i peel of the outer skin on stem at the bottom above roots - there is foul smelling watery/gel/ liquid as if it was rotting. While this is on some plants not all and otherwise plangs look healthy, is this something to worry and if so what could this be,

What kind of banana is it? My Darjeeling banana, Musa Sikkimensis tends to collect a lot of water in the leaf sheaths for some reason and can get mushy, not sure why as my other species do not do this.
