![]() Hi all, I am so new to this obsession. Anyway I have a small plant that I purchased. It is in my bedroom in front of a sunny window with a red-blue lamp over it. My question is, on the leaves that are crinkled and brown should I remove them and if so how. I have read that you are supposed to cut with a knife a "v" on the stem and remove it. Then others say leave the leaf alone. I really want to succeed at this.

![]() Welcome to the org. Where are you located? What grow zone are you in? Then place that info into your profile and others with similar locations and grow zones can give you advice on what works for them.
As far as the leaves, I leave mine on till they are dead. If there is still green, it's still helping to support the plant. Then I just cut it off with a pair of scissors. I then cut the leaf into tiny little pieces and let them cover the top of the soil. Some people cut the leaves off their plant when the leaf looks ratty. This gives the plant a nice clean look. Some times I will take off a few extra leaves to clean up a larger plant and give the green ones to my daughters rabbits. They love them. Of course the bunny berries go back to my plants. Again, welcome to the org. I hope you feel at home here. ![]()

![]() All i can think of that Mark has not covered, Just make sure you clean your scissors or what ever you use to cut in alcohol or such in between, between plants at least and I would toss the brown leaves after cutting while the plants are inside, to easy to spread anything. Easy on the water inside in winter Once a week at the most and no fert. You have an extra light source as well as a sunny window, your problem is soon to be is what to do with it as it gets too big Good luck!
