Hi there!
I am new to this forum but have been mad about bananas for years.
At the age of 14 I tryed my first grow your own bananas kit and amazingly grew 2! unfortunatly, they were left in the hands of my step father whilst I went on holiday and he put them outside....You guessed it, an unusual frost that night that killed it!!!! Since then I have had no luck growing the bananas from seed but have just bought another pack to see if I get on any better. I have bought Darjeeling- Banana (Musa Sikkimensis syn. M. hookeri). This paket is from a company called Tropica? I have in the past tryed all different methods for the best germination including smoked filters, putting in fridge, soaking, not soaking and this one says to roughen up with sand paper then soak for 12 hours!! My question is: what have you found to be the best way to germinate musa seeds? what is best for this variety? any finally any info or pics on what this should look like when its grown ( if it works)? Thanks
