Mail Hi there...

Hi,
I'm Mike... early retired former director of a Belfast cinema, and living in deepest rural France... separated from wife... disowned by children...
However, am thinking positive and would love to get going with some banana plants. (No, that isn't a kinky remark...)
I am curently searching the forums for advice on getting seeds of Musa itinerans, ornata, sikkimensis and velutina to germinate...
Great to join your forum...
Mike

A very Warm Welcome, Mike!

Hope your family gets to see the "fruits of your labor" with your bananas. Otherwise, you'd have all the bananas to yourself to enjoy! Check out the old threads, there are members from France who have had great success with their banana plants.

Good wishes to you.

Chong

Welcome Mike. Take some time and search different threads and the wiki feature of this site. There are plenty of experienced growers here who can help you if you need it.

Welcome to the site! I wish you the best of luck with your seed germination. There are plenty of great threads about that in the forums, so that should help out. However, from what I've read, it can be a bit tricky (and take up to several months even in some cases). You might have a less-frustrating banana experience if you buy some plants. There are a lot of sites online that sell healthy young plants to get you off to a good start. Just a thought. Maybe check out this thread for some potential website ideas.

Enjoy the site!

Well, none of the seeds germinated... think they may have been 'old stock' - I bought them as a job lot on ebay.fr.
So will go to a reputable seed merchant...
All the best.
