Hiya Hello Everyone:)

Hi, I have been growing plants for years and have decided to grow some bananas. I am hoping to have my new greenhouse full of banana pups by winter. Someone on the gardenweb forum suggested this site to me and I am glad they did. This is a great place to talk about and look for bananas. I am really interested in getting dwarf bananas and the grocery store banana. I started out gardening to just raise butterflies but after raising a few milkweed and hollyhocks, I decided I would grow lots of different kind of plants even if they were not for butterflies. I am glad to be here. Hello everyone!
Mike

Zone 6. I also raise some plants in 2 spare bedroom under lights. Plants are a big part of my life so I have to have lots of places to grow them. My neighbors think it is crazy that I have 2 greenhouses and 2 bedrooms full of plants. Well, soon to be 2 greenhouses full after I find some dwarf banana pups and the grocery store variety banana pup.
Thanks
Mike

Mike, I believe the " grocery store" Bananas are either Grand Nain or Cavendish depending on which brand you buy. I just want to say that there are sooo many other types available that are better tasting and just plain old more interesting to grow. Welcome to the board!
