good afternoon
Joined to learn about my banana colony in my back yard. Thanks for the invite! No bananas just beautiful décor. Timely freezes the last two years is probably why but my main goal is to learn how to make them produce bananas! Still learning if I need to fertilize and if I do, with what type. Anyways thanks for the add! will enjoy browsing the site.

Re: good afternoon
welcome! i would remove some of the plants so they aren't competing with each other. really you should have one mother plant with 2-3 pups. bananas love potassium, so get a fertilizer with higher amounts of potassium (the last number listed on the bag x-x-x) and you should be fruiting in no time.

Re: good afternoon
thank you for the welcome. I was reading through old threads on transplanting. We love the look of our yard with the many banana trees but if I could thin them out and move some to another spot to actually produce bananas. That is the plan!
