Hello banana lovers,
I am from Anaheim, CA, and have been lurking on this forum for several months trying to learn as much as possible about bananas. I picked up my first banana plant at Home Depot last summer or fall(can't remember) when I was looking for any type super dwarf fruit trees that could be grown in a pot. Now I have decided to expand and recently acquired a super dwarf Cavendish, another DC, and a dwarf Brazilian. I am also supposed to be getting a California Gold next week, but we'll see (the supplier messed up my order last time but says he will send it when available). I look forward to continue in the learning process, and fun, of the banana world. And, yes, my family is sure that I am literally "bananas." |

Welcome!
![]() Many of us believe that "California Gold" is just Dwarf Orinoco being sold at an exorbitant price.

I don't think Anaheim gets cold enough to justify growing California Gold. I'd get a Psiang Klotek from Bananas.org - View Profile: momoese or maybe a Monthan.
But if you decide you want a California Gold, drive on up to Sacramento County and you can dig up your own large pup for $25. :P |

Free place to park your tent with choice of views, wide open spaces or river's edge. Exercise is good for you.
