Bananas in Kentucky!
Hello Everyone! I'm Daniel, I just got back from a awesome trip to Key West and one the way back home on a whim decided to stop at going bananas in Homestead. It was such a inspiring visit! The nursery was beautiful my first time actually eating a banana straight from the source! much better tasting to I've grown bananas before but only as a potted plant I didn't know you could leave some in the ground for the longest lol but anyway I grow many different timber bamboo varieties in my growing zone and I cannot wait to get started on this new gardening adventure if anyone has any tips and tricks for growing in my zone (zone7a) louisville kentucky I'm all ears !!:03: and my Musa balbisiana pup is doing great indoors so far!
ps; the last pic is a video just click on it and it should take you to my flickr http:// ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Welcome aboard the Banana Express. :nanerwaveytrain:
Any kind of a fruiting banana will need to be taken in and wintered over. Musa basjoo will winter over outside in your area, but it is not what you are looking for. |
