Default Bananas in Kentucky!

Hello Everyone! I'm Daniel, I just got back from a awesome trip to Key West and one the way back home on a whim decided to stop at going bananas in Homestead. It was such a inspiring visit! The nursery was beautiful my first time actually eating a banana straight from the source! much better tasting to I've grown bananas before but only as a potted plant I didn't know you could leave some in the ground for the longest lol but anyway I grow many different timber bamboo varieties in my growing zone and I cannot wait to get started on this new gardening adventure if anyone has any tips and tricks for growing in my zone (zone7a) louisville kentucky I'm all ears !! and my Musa balbisiana pup is doing great indoors so far!

ps; the last pic is a video just click on it and it should take you to my flickr

Welcome aboard the Banana Express.

Any kind of a fruiting banana will need to be taken in and wintered over. Musa basjoo will winter over outside in your area, but it is not what you are looking for.
