Birth Announcement
As a new member with much to learn, HELLO TO ALL,
My banana just had a baby banana. What should I do/watch out for? Will I need to separate it from its mum at some point? Bananas seem to grow well here off the West Coast of Canada where I live (in the Gulf Islands, just north of the American San Juans). I put the banana outside for a while last week, but the sun was too harsh for the leaves. Today I took the container outside again and (gently) hosed some little insects off the plant. Later, I brought it back in again and cut off some old brown leaves at the base. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

do you know what type she is? the baby is called a pup. its always exciting to see a new nana grow, you can almost watch them grow overnight, they grow fast. be careful not to water too much or it can rot. bananas are heavy feeders so feed them a good supper. apparently you are doing right if your nana has given you a pup......keep up the good work. and welcome to banana land.
