hi everybody.
New to this community, it's seems very good. any chances to open a forum for diseases and injuries of banana fruits?
Any idea for this green spots on fruits after ripening?

welcome to the org! you know how a potatoe can get sun burnt? im no expert but thats what it looks like to me. you might want to have some of the nana gurus have a "peel" at that one.:waving: and the idea you have is a great one!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with those bananas. They were just "forced ripened" with carbide or ethylene gas. The outside may look ripe, but the inside may need a little more time to ripen. When the green spots/steaks turn yellow, then they will probably be truly ripe. Just my opinion.

I agree, it appears to be the effects of forced ripening that is not quite complete.

hi everybody.
Sorry but the matter is a bit more complicate. These are for sure bananas coming fro a forced ripenig with ethylene, as I took pictures at the ripening warehouse!
The problem is that the green spots do not turn to yellow, never! Just for your information, these are organic bananas.
It seems like Mosaic Virus, even if infection of fruits usually appears in different ways, like deformation and black pulp...
