I live in north Florida. I just want a species of banana (or cultivar as they say) that produces tasty, sweet, seedless bananas. I prefer a larger plant types over smaller ones.
Right now I have a fruiting "praying hands" that has lots of pups. I'd be happy to trade some.

I think you should go for musa ice cream of orinoco, i dont have that species but they are the first ones I should choose if i go to buy edible musas.
why dont you try musa coccinea, ornata, siamensis and milky way? they give beautiful blooms and are very easy to grow!:D

Thanks all.
One of my frustrations is that I have only a relatively small area in my yard which has enough sun to grow bananas. By small I mean that there's only enough room for 4-5 mats that get lots of sun, and room for about 2 more shade tolerant varieties. I have a Misi Luki, Red Iholene, Praying Hands, and Ice Cream in the sunny areas, and in the shady areas another Misi Luki from a different source that looks nothing like the other one (maybe at least one of them is actually a Misi Luki . . .), a previously unknown type that I now think is an Orinoco plaintain type after looking at the pics on the Encanto Farms website last night, a Dwarf Cavendish and a Kru Sunset. (The shade is a lot worse the later in the year it gets.)
I shouldn't complain I guess, they're all really doing well. But I sure wish I had a big yard where I could plant 5 or 10 more different kinds.
Two are fruiting, the Praying Hands and the Orinoco, both of which started in early September, and one of the Misi Luki's just put out its flag leaf and the glorious purple pod is just emerging. But in just the last two weeks or so the temperatures have dropped significantly at night, into the lower 50's on a few nights, and growth on everything has slowed waaaay down as a result. Aaaaarrrrgghhh! At this rate I don't know if I'll end up with any mature fruit by the time the freezes come. But I think it will warm up some before it gets colder again.
All my plants, except the Misi Luki that's beginning to fruit, were bought as small suckers and planted last summer. The Misi Luki was planted the summer before.
Maybe next year will be The Year of Insane Fruit Production.
