Hello All, I need some advice and help with my tissue culture bananas that are having some issues. I have several plants and 3 are doing extremely well and the other 3 have basically been 'stunted' with no growth in over a month and are showing signs of dying.

They are all potted up and under my porch where they receive direct sunlight up until noon and then they are in the shade.

For some context, I initially had my Manzano and Ice Cream planted on the ground but caterpillars started doing major damage so I potted them up and they have pretty much had no growth in a month. The 3rd and smallest plant having issues is a Hua Moa which I potted up from the beginning and has had nearly zero growth in a month. All it's done is it started shooting up a new leaf and then stopped. The leaves yellowed and are now dying.

Here is a closeup of the Ice Cream that had the most damage from the caterpillars. One of the leaves is now dying and a leaf that it was shooting up just stopped growing.

Here are my other plants right next to them and these are doing really well putting out new leaves every week :)

So I'm confused and need some help. Half of my plants are thriving and the other half are dying under same conditions.
Should I cut off the dying leaf on the Ice Cream? Or would that further harm the plant?

My only guess is on the smallest plant - the Hua Moa, the leaves turned yellow and perhaps it might be getting too much water so I'll hold back on it.

any advice is appreciated

Go back and re-read the advice/post given in your thread 'new Member from Texas"

Next describe your potting soil mix. ... Also you need to get a long stem moisture meter to check the moisture of the pots in the middle and bottom before watering. Using your finger is not accurate enough. Water only when the soil is near dry.

Next, TC plantlets are very sensitive to burning from direct sunlight. They need shading, warmth (76 to 84 deg F), and humidity.

tc's definitely take longer to get going than pups.. the corm is the energy and its just so small yet, hang in there they will come around with time as long as you take care of them properly of course.
