The plant is from my daughter who is very into bananas and got me excited about them too. It has been a week and I have seen a few inches of growth already. It came at 15 inches tall, and has grown two new leaves. It is a dwarf cavendish, and I am anxious for it to grow and produce fruit. I know it may take a year, but I am looking forward to it.

Dwarf cavendish are great plants. You'll have fun seeing it grow and produce for fruit.
Living un Vermont, it may take 2-3 years to produce. Is it in a greenhouse?

Send me $10 worth, LOL! How are the seeds looking? Did you put them in the fridge to stratify?
Forgot! I'll do it right now.

I have seen three inches of growth in the first two weeks. It is in my preschool classroom, in front of a window where the temps are never below 65.

When I got my first two last January, I was as excited as you and kept measuring several times a day. I found I was getting growth rates of 1/16" per hour on the cigars. Wait until you put it in the ground!
Putting it on a heating mat will help as well, as its feet will never get chilly.
