Hey guys,

in my Opinion and acording to what i read a Banana is blooming at an average size... No matter how old the banana is.

Or am i terrible mistaken on this?

Yes, each cultivar does tend to flower at a certain size but there can be wide variation depending on many factors. After the original plant, each subsequent pseudo stem that flowers tends to be a bit taller than the previous until they reach their max. But depending on health of the mat, you may even get a first plant ending up much taller than subsequent ones. So take average flower heights with a grain of salt as far as they might apply to you and your growing conditions.

If you have consistent care (water, fertilizer, etc.) they will flower at the same height. If you know what height your plants flower at, then you can fairly easily predict when flowering is about to occur.

Length of time is dependent on climate and weather. Long warm season means more growth. Cooler, shorter season means less growth, and thus more time to flowering, but the height will be the same.
