This is a new Blue Java(I got it a month ago or so??) and now this leaf emerged all messed up and the pstem looks a little funky too.

It's planted in compost/soil/vermiculite, I've given it fish emulsion and kelp extract and the pot has one of the built-on trays(although I drilled a couple extra holes to help it drain more).

It's gotten quite a bit of rain lately and the temps are very hot(90-92 most days).

Any idea why? Is it important? What to do to fix it if it needs fixed? None of the other bananas(in ground or in pot) are doing this but this is the only one in this particular size and style of pot. Two other Blue Java(from wellspring) are in similar pots but WAY smaller.

I wouldn't sweat it.. You get weird leaves once in a while.. I had a bunch on the SH3640 as it was getting settled in.. Now it looks pretty good.. :^)

Looks like a newly separated pup, mine do this too while they're recovering from the shock.

Yes, it was a pup!

Whew!!! I'll keep an eye on it(Like I'm not constantly hovering) and it should just put out regular leaves without doing anything, then?

This is Ox, and I love it. It does look extremely like the two others I got that are supposed to be Blue Java so I'm hoping all three are! But at least Ox is.

Thank you both for replying so quickly!

Yeah give it a few weeks and it will start putting out regular leaves. You might be able to see the next leaf down the petiole of the last leaf.
