Beautiful plants. I have the same question asked before about musa ice cream, can it have red/pink in the midrib and on the leaf border or do most of us have a mislabeled plant?

I got mine from Richard board member. So I know mine is the real deal. Mine has red on edge of leaves. Kinda red on the midrib but fads as leaf gets older. P-stem is light blue/gray with black blotches on it. Unless you visit the country where this plant comes from, then there is no way any of us can tell for sure. Whats the real deal... Thanks.

Thanks for the photos. Some were some that I had never seen before. Siam Ruby has become my favorite ornamental. Each leaf is different. What a gorgeous plant.

The first unknown you showed looks a lot like a Dwarf Namwah, the one with the short, quite rounded leaves. |

So Richard doesn't sell the true IC? Hmm I already have one of those. All three nanners are cold hardy in OBX. Board member sent them to me last year and he wasn't sure what they were. But they come back down there and I'm warmer here.

I'm pretty sure that all the bananas Richard sells are TC plants from Agristarts, which sells the Namwah IC, not the true IC.

Well, I think Jon would be the first to admit that not all his bananas are correctly identified. The few photos he has of Ice Cream on his website (We Be Bananas) don't look like the real deal, but he might have other plantings of Ice Cream that are not shown in his photos.
