Hi

Im Mike. I live in oklahoma. I am growing musa basjoo and dwarf cavendish. this is my second year and its already off to a fast start. My basjoo got cut to the ground with no protection and its coming back stronger than ever. It has given me about 12 pups of which I was able to remove and relocate about half. My cavendish has pup a few times and I gave one to my mother.
I am making a trip to Tampa this June and hope to find some more to add to my collection.
I also grow citrus, plumeria, canna, aroids, and a few palms.

Cavendish, its greened up a lot since coming out from the greenhouse.

It appears you have come down with the "plant growing" disease. :)

Thank you

It is a very addictive hobby for sure. Its a real challenge to grow things here, with day to day gusty wind, scorching summers, cool wet springs, and the occasional sub arctic blasts, keeping stuff alive and healthy is tough.

Very nice tropical bed. Im on the IL/WI and trying to get the same thing going. Do you dig up any of your bulbs or just mulch over? Keep up the great work.

Banana

I dug up the EE bulbs and they have come back to life, I tried to save the Red Abyssinian but failed at that. Everything else just dies back with frost and I let the leafs act as mulch. This spot is on the north/west corner of my yard so It gets protected from the cold winds and gets sun almost all day. I think that acts as a micro climate and helps a ton.

re-potted the cavendish. not really sure how big it is, I think about 15 or 20 gallons. I got for free at a local nursery. I also noticed another pup starting when I took it out of the other pot :woohoonaner:
