This is the first harvested fruit of the year. It's exciting to get to eat some more of these bananas because they are so... good! Also I rearranged the banana mats last year, to make room for a few other projects, so fruit has been a little scarce for a while.

WOW!! Now thats a big bunch of bananas.
Do you have a pic that might be zoomed out a little? Just want to see if this is a dwarf and how tall it might be.

They do look very similar to mysore. How tall is the plant? If I could get a dwarf mysore I'd plant a bunch of them.

Thanks, they average 16-18 fingers per hand, this bunch was 12 hands. It does remind me of mysore in a lot of ways. The taste of the fruit is close to Mysore, but IMHO, better!

I'm with you on that one Nic! I'd like to have dwarfs of every variety that I grow.

Me too! A dwarf Mysore would be fantastic.
I noticed a photo that Gabe posted of Kunnan, in which the fruiting plant was quite short. I don't know if that plant was typical of that variety. Kunnan is in the Ney Poovan subgroup, like Chini Champa is supposed to be, and so I would guess it would taste similar to Mysore. Gabe could tell us more.

Unfortunately, No! I removed several varieties last year and rearranged the mats to make room for other stuff. I have a few that should produce this summer though.
Non banana related, I've been harvesting all kinds of stuff.
Blueberries, green beans, onions, tomatoes, and still to come
melons, and pineapples. BTW, nice thread on your tomato project!
I should be home in a few days and I'll try to post some pictures.
