In Brazil it's eaten sliced with cream & sugar for breakfast; but the salad was always one of my favorites (with red onion, olive oil & vinegar).
Makes for a great sandwich, too! (on caraway rye). ![]() I never did get around to trying the avocado ice cream though.

There is a variety called "Mrs. Holland" that may be hardy to 8b temps.
