Thanks everybody. The Gfinger has annually always given me the most reliable and prolific yield. Highest finger count was about 120 and the lowest 80. Several leaves were laying on the TV cable this year, and once before made it up to the power lines.
Tony - it was about 10 or 11 ft tall when the flower tip showed. Jarred - this is the 4th bloom. Gfinger was one of the first planted straight from Going Bananas in Homestead. I like the taste better when they have just ripened. Good acid/sweet balance. Thin skinned, they tend to split when fully ripened. Good then for banana bread and Bananas Foster (oh yeah!). Dan |
