Hi all,
The leaves of Cal. Gold and Dwf. Orinoco come up very slowly in such a pace of one leaf 3~3 weeks and stop growing at the basement of the petioles, and become like "Travellers' Tree". It seems for me that it definitely is something wrong. But I don't think it fertilizer problem as the leave keep beautiful green. Any advice or comments please. This shows how Cal.Gold looks like. I cut back the sheath of the P-stem if it helped the leaves to develope smoothly. So it don't look so funny. But it actually was very funny. The far left is Dwf. Orinoco. I did quite same as Cal. Gold. Seems something wrong? |

Might be root-bound. Can't see if it's in a pot, but it looks like your others are. I would repot it into a larger pot.

That's redonkulous!
I've had some do something similar to that. I think they were all water suckers that had gotten big. But never anything like that. I tried to look at this on FB and it was deemed "abusive". |

Asacomm and Sunfish - it certainly looks as if something is slowing the growth down - either too small a pot, or not enough water if they are in the ground. Although we rarely get temperatures above 90f, the rainfall is high with often 3 inches overnight and 22 inches in a month. It doesn't look like a nutrition problem as they look beautiful.

Judging by the pots around it, I assume it's also in that size. For a plant that large, it could definitely be in something larger, perhaps a 25 gallon pot. IMO that is what is causing the issue.

My 'Raja Puri' is doing something similar right now. The last leaf did not completely emerge and the leaf is having trouble completely unfurling as a result. I'd say it seems to be a thing with dwarf plants but my 'Hua Moa' used to have issues with it's leaves unfurling properly too.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that my Raja Puri is in the ground rather than in a pot.
