I received a Golden Aromatic last summer, overwintered it in the house and just planted it out in the garden today. It has about 5' of pstem and looks great. I have looked for information on it, but cannot find much. Anyone have information, or a link for info on Golden Aromatic!? Thanks in advance...

Tony, I appreciate your effort, but I already looked at the ad, but there is no information on the banana itself. Again, thanks for the effort!

I've never heard of an 'aromatic' banana, but that sounds pretty amazing. Keep us informed!

It is a tall, light colored plant, that is very cold sensitive. The smaller plants do OK in winter, but the taller ones seem to lose momentum, and ultimately don't successfully flower.

Both of mine survived this tough winter. One is in the ground and the other in a pot. The leaves froze back but the pseudostem has remained viable. The new growth is doing well! I'll try to remember to get a picture today. :2239:

Mine fruited @ 10/12' and tasted like Cavendish. Didn't notice a strong aroma from it though. It took 2 yrs. for it to fruit, by far the longest of any banana I've grown!

This is the picture of the one I have in the ground. I've had it for less than a year.

I'll post more information as I learn about this cultivar. I think it is AAAA , but may be AAA. Good growing! :2239:
Rose is also another aeromatic and good tasting cultivar. It is the standard by which Fusarium resistance is measured, and is diploid.
