Thanks Mitchell. I agree. Everytime we go there I stuff myself with fruits that are not available in the mainland.
Yes, Hawaii is very intoxicating. Even my wife who is so afraid of the water was convinced to take snorkeling in 30 feet of water.

Austin: Did you buy a time share there? That was one of the luxurious condo in the island.
We stayed at Sands of Kahana 3 or 4 times now since I fell in love with the island. But it was a mistake buying a time share I think. Although for a week you are living like a rich man , it's a beautiful place, the time share is not worth it.
But if one is interested, I'll sell my time share at less than half the cost it costs me. I bought it for $28K when it was costing at about $58k at that time because mine was a short sale.

Here are some of the sceneries that I took as we tour the island. I will just post the pictures at random order as I remembered them. My point here is for you to see the island's natural beauty, the flowers and the vegetation and of course the seashore and of course the bananas that I saw along the way.

Ante: You know what? I forgot to take the pictures you are asking for-FOOD. We did not go to real nice restaurants but we brought our own food that we cooked in our condo to save some money. To eat in a restaurant here is very very expensive so guess what- we eat at McDonalds along the way too. So I concentrated my camera on the natural beauty of the island. So maybe next time, I'll do that. I did not even take pictures the many fruit stands along the way and highways but to the flowers and trees that are unique to this place and can not be seen in the main land.
Sorry Ante. But I can show you when we attend the luau at one time we ate the traditional Hawauiin food but guess what I did not take pictures of them but the show which I will show later.

You are welcome. I hope noone is bored looking at my pictures.

Those 2 islands I've never been but wanted to go but because of limited time we just don't have time to hop in another island. There are so many things to see and do specially if you have 3 teenagers.
How are they look like and what kind of entertainment they can offer?

Mitchell: Yes, of course we sample many fresh fruits such as star apple, papayas, mangoes, atemoyas (lots of this cause it's cheaper here) coconuts Manzano bananas but the manzano here does not look like and taste like the Manzano I buy in the mainland. But nonetheless we like them as long as they are bananas. Most of these fruits we buy at the fruit stand scattered along the highway and inside the mall or flea market. We go there too. We at one time when we saw a large mangoe tree in a private house with lots of hanging fruits so we stopped and knocked at their door if we could buy some of the fruit. And for $10 we got a whole bunch but they have to get them for us. They won't let us pick them from the tree. We bought other kinds of fruits but at the moment I could not think of their names. Guyabano and kamatsili are one but I don't know the term in English.

I have some more pics to post.
So we are driving toward the mountain. It's curvy and hilly and full of vegetation. I could not stop bebause the road is so narrow and dangerous to take pictures.

Do you guys see those wild chickens dining next to the parking lot? This is a rest spot along the winding path of a highway.

<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=26378><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=26378&size=1 border=0></a>

Here you can see wild bananas growing everywhere. I wonder who harvest those ripe bananas? Tarzan?

Here's the entrance to see a waterfall as the sign says. It would be a long and tiring hike but it feels soo good.

<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=26380><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=26380&size=1 border=0></a>

This is the way along side a path hiking towards a water fall a long hike I would say thinking that it would be large water fall.

An afterthought to post this picture. More clowning around

Brent:
You are welcome. I hope noone is bored looking at my pictures.

Those 2 islands I've never been but wanted to go but because of limited time we just don't have time to hop in another island. There are so many things to see and do specially if you have 3 teenagers.
How are they look like and what kind of entertainment they can offer?

Kauai was great...very lush and tropical...especially the east side of the island, around Lihue. Many beautiful waterfalls to see here. We also took a helicoptor tour of the island and did a catmaran tour of the NaPali Coast which was just awesome. We saw dolphins, whales, and sea turtles in addition to the beautiful coastal landscape. There are several gardens to see here as well.

The Big Island is great as well. I know we spent one entire day in Volcanoes National Park, which I can only describe as "otherworldly". There are many botanical gardens on this island as well.
