I hope your boys get the culprit! I have a live trap - got 23 or 24 raccoons (and 13 possum) since last summer. I give them 'swimming lessons' in my pond &, they fail every time!
Hey Bryan, I'll bet it was a cat that took the heads off. I find headless birds on occasion from my neighbors cat.
