Default Re: Watering seedlings with hydrogen-peroxide solution

Kylie, I found your article fascinating.
For many years I shipped Siamese Fighting Fish to shows all over America. These 2" fish would travel for up to 3 days in a couple of ounces of water and the same volume of air. One of the tricks was to add a couple of drops of peroxide just before sealing the bag, to increase oxygen levels during the trip. I was always afraid of damaging the fish, but your article makes it sound like I was being conservative.
I've never heard of peroxide as an insecticide before, but suspect this is a side affect of improved oxidation. What I am thinking is that creating an aerobic environment where anaerobic molds, fungi or bacteria can't get started has taken away a lot of bug food? If it just cut back on the molds it could produce a big improvement in early growth.
Does anyone have anything to add to this? It sounds like a good approach to planting.

Paul
