Default Re: Stuffed Cali Gold

OK, so here's what happened. After receiving the "mega" pup from Benny, I staked the 3 foot tall plant into a 7 gallon container. All the roots connected to the mother/pup complex died in route. New roots were just emerging from the meat of the corm upon arrival. My mistake/stroke of genius was pouring some liquid seaweed into the container and drenching it in with water.

As discussed previously, a single large leaf initially emerged. The 2nd through 5th leaves got stuffed and deformed. Leaf 6 emerged smaller, but normal with a short petiole. Leaf 7 has emerged a little larger/normal. Leaf petiole is starting to normalize a bit. Everything is hunky dorry now. This thing is growing like wildfire.

Now here's the amazing thing. This banana has almost rooted out the entire 7 gallon container in a matter of a few weeks. Phenomenal root growth. Roots are showing up at the surface. Everywhere roots. Apparently the seaweed was well received.
