Default Re: I Saved A Parrot Plant!!

I use the plant as a yard filler. In zone 10 it grows like a weed. It has a number of clones that have colors from yellow to red. My red form blooms all year long, unless the temp goes below 40. The flowers will wither, but new flowers come out in a few weeks. They take a lot of water and like bananas they respond to fertilizers.
At this time they are still in full bloom. check out the last picture on my site. http://togofcoralgables.com/FlowersofSept06.aspx
Thanks for the proper name because Parrot Plant could be more plant. If you google parrot plant you will get Impatiens niamniamensis, an invasive plant.
