My H M produced 14 pups last year. They sucked the life out of the mama and she fruited with only 20 naners. A big wind broke the flower stalk before they developed and it was all over for 2008. The follow on pup is tall and hefty right now and I hope it pops the flower when it's warmer.

And yes, it's true, the "platano hawaiano" makes great tostones in taste and texture - if not the best. For now, I have to settle for the frozen HM's from Freshco mart - partially cooked and squashed. They are ok, but it's like eating frozen fish sticks compared to fresh caught fish.

Still have a few potted pups if you are interested.
