really after growing allot of seed the Key is how fresh they are for the most part the fresher the more likely you are to get some to sprout and with in a particular Banana fruit the seeds are set up to germinate sequentially so that not all will go right away so that germination is staged over a long period of time so if a seed is fresh you really don't need to soak them at all but if they have been dried out theres a set of processes that set up that put the seed in to dormancy that is what we all are trying to figure out also lots of Musa seeds are not viable as they don't have an embryo or they are contaminated with bacterias and fungi i soak my sees in 86c for a cupal of days thats more then enghf for them to get moist inside there not as water tight as they look
