Default Please Help Banana Appears....

I live in north Louisiana. I believe I have a Musa Bajoo banana plant. It has been planted in ground for two years about 15 feet from a swimming pool. Last year it grew to about 6 feet and was healthy until winter. It died back and I mulched it. In spring, I uncovered it and it began to grow quickly with several new pups. It grew to about 4 feet with alot of healthy leaves coming from main stalk and new pups(believe I have four pups around main stalk) BUT around the beginning of August(I went on vacation for about a week but had someone supposed to be watering plants while I was gone) it began to yellow and droop. All the leaves. To a novice it looked like it wasn't getting enough water so I poured the water to it to no avail. Then I thought maybe it had gotten too much water. I have two dogs that urinate in the vicinity but have never seen them hike leg right beside it. Lastly, last year I fertilized with fish emulsion and this year only fertilized with miracle grow once in June. Why do you think it has died down???? I think it will come back next spring but I'm not really sure as it shouldn't have yellowed and leaves die in August. I would greatly appreciate any help on why you think this happened. Thanks!!
