this is old news - a cyclone hit the main banana producing area of Australia back in 2006 - did a quick search and couldn't find anything on the site - an interesting story and some good pics in the links

sorry if this has already been done, or if its too far away from the majority of forum members

bananas went up to about $20 australian a kilo - about $18.50 US or $14 euro for about 8 months after the cyclone hit
