I have removed pups of all sizes and all my stuff is in the ground. For a pot I would just remove the whole plant and use your hand to remove dirt where the pup is. You could use the hose to spray dirt away to see how many roots the pup has and if you removed it. Would there be enough corm from the mother for the pup since smaller.
