I didn't take any pictures but here is what it was like. All the roots were brown and sponge like. The outer surface of the corm was like that as well. The hole in red was like that and went into the corm about an inch. Corm was about 3 inches in diameter. The corm on the inside was like a brown hairy custard texture. The goo came out by hand. Outer walls were about 1/4" thick. It was like a ball halfway filled with custard. The stem came right off and the end that was at the corm was just rolled up leaves. The red dotted line was where the soil line was in the pot.

It's normal with Manini for the central cylinder to rot and become hollow leaving the cortex as an outer cover kind of like a helmet.
