Sharing pictures of the bite marks will help. Different insects leave different patterns for dinner. Imgur is easier to use.

I live in Bakersfield and we have had 27 days over 100 - the plants are shaded. There are no noticeable bugs on the underside of the leaves. This morning I sprayed then with Dawn soap and water to see if that will help. Any help would be appreciated.
That weather is perfect for bananas- their native habitats are hot and humid so that's great! Dawn soap can build residue on the leaves and strip their natural barrier overtime, unless it rains frequently in your area stop doing this lol. You can get a proper insecticide spray for $10 at Home Depot.

Brown leaves are caused by tiny pots, disease, infrequent watering schedules. Hearty plants but they're so fickle sometimes.
